Week 1
Arrival Part I (All Ks - July 5)
הגעה חלק א - כל הקבוצות - 5 יולי Welcome to Israel! To whet your appetites, here are some images of the groups' first meeting together at Park Canada - icebreakers, some fun get-to-know you games, and an introduction and welcome by Executive Director Charles Herman and members of the Nesiya senior staff. 
Arrival Part II (All Ks - July 5)

K2 Arrival and Lech Lecha (July 5-6)
קהילה 2 - הגעה ולימוד לך לך - 5-6 יולי Arriving at Ben Gurion Airport on Monday afternoon. Studying Lech Lecha Tuesday morning at Har Hanegev Field School. Building our own personal journeys from masking tape: "Where do I come from? Where am I going?" 
K3 Arrival and Park Canada (July 5)
קהילה 3 - הגעה ופארק קנדה - 5 יולי More images of K3 from their arrival at Ben Gurion Airport Monday afternoon and the first afternoon at Park Canada. 
K1 Noded Day 1 (K1 - July 5-6)
קהילה 1 "נודד" - היום הראשון Images of K1 from their arrival at the airport through Tuesday night, their first night sleeping under the desert stars: includes images of boarding the buses; icebreakers at Park Canada; studying Lech Lecha; creating personal journeys with masking tape; journeying into the Crater; and relaxing around a campfire at the end of a long day. 
K1 Noded Day II (July 7)
קהילה 1 "נודד - היום השני - 7 יולי Sunrise hike on Wednesday morning. Relaxing in a cool cave during the heat of the day. Water in the desert. Visit to Mitzpe Ramon. 
K1 Noded - More Day II (July 7)
קהילה 1 "נודד" - עוד מהיום השני - 7 יולי More images of K1's hike through the Ramon Crater - sunrise, hiking Mt. Ardon, "leader and follower", preparing dinner. 
K1 Noded - Day II & III (July 7-8)
קהילה 1 "נודד" - היום השני והיום השלישי Images from Thursday, July 8 - the final day of K1's wandering journey through Machtesh Ramon. 
K2 Noded (July 6-11)
קהילה 2 נודד - 6-11 יולי Hiking into Machtesh Ramon. Sleeping out under the stars. Sunrise hike. Hanging out and spontaneous dancing after Shabbat. Sunday morning sha'ar - opening activity to the day. 
K3 Noded Day I (July 6)
קהילה 3 "נודד" - היום הראשון - 6 יולי The second day of the program, K3 participants studied and discussed the Lech Lecha text, in which Avraham journeys through the desert, and then headed to the desert for their own wandering journey. Here you will find images of Har Hanegev Field School, K3's entrance into the wadi below Sde Boker, and their first day of hiking in the desert. 
K3 Noded Day II (July 7)
קהילה 3 "נודד" - היום השני - 7 יולי Sunrise hike to Hod Akev. Early morning prayers and journal writing. Swimming in the desert. Sun, sweat, and incredible energy. 
K3 More Noded (July 6-8)
קהילה 3 - עוד מהנודד - 6-8 יולי More images of K3's wandering desert journey through Nahal Tzin. 
Hangar Adamah (July 8)
הנגאר אדמה - כל הקבוצות - 8 יולי Visit to Hangar Adamah in Mitzpe Ramon - a unique institution founded by a group of Israeli artists who moved to this peripheral development town in order to help build, support, and develop the arts within the local community. Images of a workshop led by the Adamah artists, and hanging out in this cool space. 
K3 Shabbat in the Negev (July 9)
שבת בנגב קהילה 3 - 9 יולי Images from Erev Shabbat - Friday afternoon - at Har Hanegev Field School. Gone is the dirt and sweat of the week, and participants are showered and dressed up for their first Shabbat together as a Nesiya community. |
